Shanghai Chef Kitchen, Parramatta

Food is delicious after a few hour of browsing in Dymocks; so off to visit a new restaurant on Church St! The restaurant is sort of sparsely decorated but a small vase of fake flowers on each table adds some life (ironically). My table had pretty good service too! Shanghai Chef Kitchen is right next to Taste Gallery.

Chinese Noodle Restaurant, Haymarket

After a long day I need to refuel of course! So time to go to Chinatown for some cheap dindins. Chinese Noodle Restaurant is located sort of behind Market City but there are two restaurants with identical signs, this one is right next to Menya Noodle Bar. The restaurant itself is tiny so we're led to another restaurant space which is a little emptier.

I feel like such a hipster (ironically) sitting in this tiny hole in the wall restaurant with no name on the window or any decorations. Sah hipster.

Taste Gallery, Parramatta

It was time to take a break from studying for the biggest exams of my life so far. So what do I do? I go for a little shopping and eating out. For some reason Parramatta Westfield seems to be lacking in young people today, but that's probably because of the evil HSC that's robbing us all of any social life. Comfort food at Taste Gallery!

Taste of Shanghai, Ashfield (Trip 2)

Okay so wait a billion years in the cold for Jamie's Italian or wait maybe 20 minutes for Taste of Shanghai. I'm hungry so I take the Ashfield option. I'm almost starving at this point so being hit by a tidal wave of the vinegar/soy sauce scent when I walk through the door doesn't really help much...

Red Chili Sichuan, Burwood

It's been quite a while since I've been back to this small restaurant on Burwood Rd but it's still as busy as ever! And I'm fairly eager to have some nice hot Sichuan food.

Chef's Gallery, Sydney

Walking from the QVB toward the movies, you can see this place straightaway, especially at night when the big letters are lit up. I step into this semi-spacious, modern-looking restaurant...

Taste Of Shanghai, Ashfield

Taking a peek inside Taste of Shanghai, it clearly looks fancier than New Shanghai, but the amount of people standing outside of either place is more or less the same. This raises the question: Which is better?

We squeeze ourselves through the not-so-wide door and stand awkwardly for 20 minutes waiting for a table (we didn't want to share see?). Before I order, I have no idea I'm in for a night of guessing ingredients...

New Shanghai, Ashfield

One night some others and I decide to pass up Burwood in favor of Ashfield for some food. In the end it was just a toss up between New Shanghai and Taste of Shanghai down the road and since we were too lazy to cross the road, it was New Shanghai for dinner.

Goldstone Noodle Restaurant, Toronto, Ontario

“Restaurant Closed for Movie Filming”

I’m sorry what? Yes, movie filming. In what locals tell me is one of the yummiest noodle restaurants in Toronto. Goldstone is smack bang on the middle of Spadina, the main artery of a massive Chinatown (compared to Sydney’s anyway). Delicious duck and noodles!
